Cleveland-born, Atlanta-dwelling, hip-hop talent, Darrin Still (aka. “D.Still”), music is as much a part of his life as the air he breathes. A seasoned veteran in audio production, he has produced in genres wide and far, including Pop, RNB, Dubstep, EDM, and others; however, he has come to find a home in the world of beats, rhythm, poetry, and flow. Being influenced by hip-hop/rap’s household names like Dre, Swizz Beats, Shawty Redd, Timbaland, NAS, J Cole, 2Pac, and Outkast (to name a few).
D.Still, brings a tantalizing brand of productions which contain a recognizable rhythm and groove through interesting beats and percussion while infusing this with lush synth-scapes and beautiful bass lines that bring a fluid swagger to complement a characteristically tumultuous rap vocal.
Coming from a musical family, and growing up in the 90s, D.Still was able to develop a rich musical knowledge which would manifest later on as an astute ear for quality sample selection. From jazz to blues, to the Pop legends such as Prince, the Ohio-raised producer would rise in a field of many, scoring record deals with labels such as Atlantic Records, Murder INC, Interscope, Virgin Records, The Atlantic Music Conference, and RocNation. His mixtape, ‘The Futuristic World Suicide’, released in 2012, received acclaim with single, ‘Superheroes’, making the top 40 charts.
With such success, D.Still is eager to further this determined momentum, as he currently toils in the studio with the prospect of the release of follow-up EP, ‘The Futuristic World Suicide II’, along with sister EP, ‘I AM TROY’, 2020 on Soundcloud.
